New Member from Texas
#1

Just wanted to introduce myself. Retired airline pilot living in Colleyville, Texas.

Currently without a Porsche , but have recently owned a 356, 944 and a Boxster.

Hope to get back to Porsche ownership sometime soon. Interested in the 968.

Welcome! I think that given your past stable, you'd be very happy with a 968. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

Welcome to the board. I am in Dallas, so we are close by. Let me know if I can help you, but I do know of a very nice low miles silver cab for sale in the Wichita Falls area. Take a look:

Good to know I have a 968 neighbor close by. There are actually several 968's in the area that I have seen, but hardly any seemed to be members of this forum or PCA. There are several listed in the member directory of .net.

I am trying to work with Jeff Coe (national registry) to develop a list of those 968's in North Texas. It would interesting to organize a gathering of 968's sometime soon. Maybe in connection with a PCA event. if you aren't a member, you should be as it is a fun bunch of people.

Welcome from your neighbor to the north. Lived in Grapevine for several years. Now in Tulsa.

I'll keep a look out for a nice one too. You interested in a cab or coupe?

@jg968....seems there are several 968 owners in OK. We need to have some form of regional gathering of 968 similar to that held at Hershey. I know Porsche Palooza is a popular event, but it's a pretty long drive from Dallas.

@robadams56 - yes, that's a great idea. There are at least 3 in Tulsa, the 2 in our family and the one owned by our mechanic who owns Rennsport Werkstatt (that's his speed yellow M030 coupe next to mine in my pic). And there at least 2 in OKC that I know of.

It would be great to plan a trip and meet somewhere in between. I think there are a few nice parks in between near the Arbuckles. There's also a well known road known as the Talimena Drive west of McAlester. Or we could plan a trip to Oklahoma Foreign so you can peruse their collection of 25+ wrecked 968s for odds and ends. (most of them are stripped of the good stuff by now though)

Tanks for all the support. I grew up in Oklahoma, Tulsa. Started airline career at Braniff. Went to Piedmont Airlines when Braniff shutdown in 1982.

Retired from USAirways 10 years ago.

I am presently in North Carolina, spend my summers and fall in the mountains, just dragging my heels returning to Texas.
