Hello I am a brand new owner of a midnight blue 968 with Targa roof and limited-slip diferential (that stuff convinced me to buy te car).

Just about time to buy my first Porsche, I turned 60 2 months ago and if you don't have fun now, when will it be ?

I also have some funny motorbikes such as Yamaha 350 RZ (for you americans, for us it is 350 RDLC) to take care of. I live in France, I guess we are not so many from Europe on this forum.

And I have a LOT of things to learn about the mighty 968.

Chap

Thought so , and all 968 coupes have removable sunroofs I think ( very large ones at that ) so it's ALMOST like a Targa roof, but I just never heard it referred to it as that , so I thought it might be some custom made roof ..

Not All...at least 30 that I know of had sunroof delete (most of the Firehawk series).

Firehawk was a factory production series ? Or are those customized aftermarket ?

Yep, Targa is the denomination but it is not a Targa as in "look à my 911 Targa !". Just a large sunroof you can entirely remove (meaning it cannot slide backwards but just open a little).

I know somy guys in the state made a transparent kevlar roof to substitute to the original one. Not sure if they can be found now.

They were (many of them, but not all)  ordered as Sunroof Delete. The Firehawk series was not a factory race team, so cars were bought more or less stock, and then modified within certain limits. Pete has one of the Firehawk cars, maybe he'll chime in.
