Hello. I live in Silver Spring, Maryland (USA) and have owned a 1994 968 Cabriolet since 2000. Its Iris Blue with a black top, black leather interior and tipronic transmission. Have been having an electical issue with the thermostat (reads much higher than actual engine temp when car running but correct temp on battery power when car off) and hope to find posssible insights from others who may have experienced the same.

Welcome,

Maybe you can make it to the East Coast Detail Day on September 19th (see local events)...a good chance to meet other 968ers and gain some insight into your car.

Regards,

Jay

Yes, welcome, and by all means, if you can make it to my place on Saturday the 19th, please join us. Always nice to know of another 968 in the DC metro area. I'm right by Dulles airport. Check out the events thread for my contact info.

With regard to your temp reading, my guage was acting erratically when I purchased my car and it turned out to be a thermistor failure on the rear of the guage. North Hollywood Speedo rectified this when I sent them my instrument cluster for an odometer repair. I assume your car is not overheating?

Come on out! You'll meet some great guys.

Also, I have a tiptronic gauge cluster I could bring
with me and install for you.
