Welcome, everyone knows Red cars go faster! Other than the social banter and irrelevancy, there is a wealth of knowledge here in the forum and in the members heads and collective wisdom.

Flash - is there a way we could track the total member/car years of knowledge on this forum?

Rap, experience (particularly painful experiences) counts more than theory. We all learn better from others mistakes than their well intentioned wishes and platitudes.

I have had my car now for 7 years, so if you added up the total "ownership years" of knowledge on the forum, it would be like those businesses that sprout about having "collectively over 200 years experience".

I better watch out or someone from Marketing might come and have a stern word with me.

I'll take one guy with 20 years of experience over 20 guys with one year of experience.

Craig, yep I'm in that slow learning curve of experience with 2 cars to double the learning fun!

Tama,

I agree entirely, although, 1 year of pushing the boundaries versus 20 years of a garage/concours queen might work out similar. I have learnt far too much (painfully) doing the SC route I took (particularly yesterday and today), but that will be another post soon.

What counts is practical doing knowledge, not theory.

Still, it would be good to see the relative knowledge contained within the forum. Perhaps, we could have a secondary status, trying to get to "Zen Master" of all things 968. If that was the case, perhaps Peter and Flash could do retreats so us great unwashed could be enlightened.
