Hi - My name is Peter and I own a 968 cabriolet and live on the island of Mallorca (the largest of the Balearic Islands) in the Mediterranean. I joined the forum for information as there are not too may 968's on the island - I often have a 968 rally or meet and it gets quite lonely - sometimes I don't even turn up!!

Talk about a rare beast...you're always welcome here to talk and share about 968's.

How many TOTAL Porsches would you say there are in Mallorca (BTW, my Mother loved her pearls <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.png" class="smilie" alt="" /> )?

Regards,

Jay

Not sure this is how I reply to Jay and Jake but just to say Hi and i will post a few pics soon. I have seen one 968 (black cabriolet) German registered but no local models hence the Lonely Hearts 968 Club. Plenty of 911's and certain red Italian cars but still looking for another 968.........

Mallorca, home of the classic car rallye! Beautiful island, I would live to visit. The 968 is a fairly rare car here in the US also, I recently attended a car show with over 800 cars in attendance and I had the one and only 968 there

Hello Everyone - The island of Mallorca is about 40 miles (60K) by 20 (30K) and is really an island of two parts. Sun worshipers and professional party goers head south with great beaches and the beautiful capital city of Palma. Serious motorists travel the mountain roads to the north. The roads are in good shape and you can enjoy the passes - snow in the winter but 10 months of great weather. There is a Classic Car Rally every March with many of the best mountain roads closed for a few hours as the rally moves through. This year two friends from the UK entered and finished 4th and 5th overall. You can catch up with a few minutes on Youtube just type in "Oris IX" and you will get a dozen clips to view. Look out for my pal's Lancia Stratos - just turn the volume up and pretend it is a 968!! I will take some pics up in the mountains and include them soon - thanks for all the welcomes.
