So i am a car collector and i am seriously thinking about investing in a 968. I have had quite a few audi's and VW and i am thinking about taking this step next. I just want to learn all i can first.

welcome!

as an investment, i cannot say a 968 is a good one. maybe in 10 years, after a LOT more cars die, maybe a super low mileage relatively rare example might be worth something. an average car won't be.

we are seeing a split in values happening right now. higher mileage cars (over 80k) are going down, middle mileage cars (30k to 80k) are stagnant and not selling very fast, due largely to the glut of low priced beat up cars, and low mileage cars (under 30k) are in the hands of people who think they are worth more than the market will currently pay, but the expectation prices on those are going up. you'd pay top dollar right now, but possibly do well in a decade or so if you mothballed it.

as a car to drive and enjoy, they can be very satisfying.
