Anybody going to the national Alfo Romeo convention tomarrow in Frederick, Md.?

Daryyl and I should be going up in the late morning after looking at a car. Hope to see a few of the old supercharged monsters from the early 30's.

Very nice!I see Alfa also uses tennis balls to cover the inlet trumpets. I saw the same solution in the Porsche museum. I am considering an Alfa for my next DD.

Man those inboard calipers on that CanAm car are right up against the transaxle. Not where I would think you would want all that heat. Nice pics.

Good eye. I've always thought inboard brakes were a neat concept because of the reduction in unsprung weight, but they never really caught on in street cars, and have pretty much faded out in race cars too (I think...). Other than the heat issue you mention, I'm not really sure why.

Ya don't hear much about Alfa's anymore. Outside of the 8C I haven't heard much from them since the 80s.

i've always been fond of alfa's, when i bought my first 944....3 of my friends all had alfa's....2 GTV-6's & a Milano.

They will be back in the States soon. Now that FIAT has a chunk of Chrysler, they have a US network in place with which to market their cars. We should see Fiat 500's and small Alfas in a year of two. I think its great!
