My neighbor's second 968
#1

The man who lives just a few houses down the street from us now has a white cab in his driveway . This is the same guy who has had the black cab for at least the last eight years and said he has no intention of driving it or selling it. Just keeps it in his garage. Wonder what the story is on the white one. From about 30 ft away while I was driving by, it looks to be in very nice shape so I'll walk over tomorrow and check it out up close and see what his plans are for this one . He is a car wholesale broker ( whatever the heck that means ) and I occasionally see an Alpha, or a Lancia, or a BMW Alpina, or an Opel GT in his driveway so not your very common vehicles , but also nothing that reaches the top tier of collector cars variety, ergo the 968s which seem to fit into that category. So now there are four 968s barely a hundred yards apart on the same street. Who said these cars are rare, LOL ?!

The six speed is in the garage next to the MBZ, the tip in the driveway next to our son's Sentra and the wife offered to be the one making the sacrifice and park the Pathfinder in front of the house . That requires a 10 second walk from the front door . Unlike you guys on the east coast who have front lawns often as large as the back yards, all of our land is behind the house so walking to the curb does not require much effort...especially since we don't have to plow snow out of the way to get to the car and drive it away :-)

So you suggested she could kill two birds with one stone. The walk to the car adding exercise to the component! Not every Easterner has a large front yard. Mine is sensibly in the back like yours! Liz was also very gracious and offered to continue to park her car out front until the garage was built. I sweetened the offer by clearing the snow from her car and having one of those auto starters installed. Now she is in the attached garage and doesn't use it. Kept the peace though! ! Lol it's -4 with the wing chill now. Gotta love garages!

Hmmm.. my front yard is big. I have a 100' foot driveway - and I have it going on out back too - about 500 additional feet - lol

We are blessed to have 2.5 acres down here. It's awesome except when you have to do yardwork - the chainsaw gets a workout!

How about our forum colleague from the Netherlands who still has ( 8 ? ) of the 11 968s he owned ? Must require a fairly sizable lot to park all of those, unless of course he has a Jay Leno type garage :-)

Dan, I saw that one parked on the street last weekend and wondered WTF!? You have another blue 968 nearby and a 2nd on its way next week, haha! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

Welcome to 968 country : yours is less than five minutes away, there are four on my side of the street and another one is occasionally

parked at the condos about 1/8 of a mile away ..so six 968s in less than one square mile, LOL . Did you notice the new Jaguar F type

( copper color ) parked across the street , just a few houses up from the white 968 ? Looks pretty nice. Of course all of these pale by comparison to the Ferrari F 40 whose exhaust always announces " I OWN this street, bitches !! " every weekend . I think he lives in that gated brick house half mile up from us, on the west side .. Hey, maybe if we figure out a way to connect our six 968 engines to one another and install them in one car we can give him a run for his money :-) :-)
