Motor Bogs Down on Acceleration
#1

This started about a week ago. I step on the gas and the motor just bogs down and I do not get any acceleration. I can stay at my speed, and slowly accelerate but that's about it. The next time I drive, it runs fine for a day or two, then same thing. This has happened at freeway speeds and around town. Thoughts?

What RPM range are we talking? 1000-2000, 2000-3000....? From a halt or while in motion?

Only while in motion. Probably all RPM's but I'm usually around 3,000.

Probably not related but I had the exact same symptoms on my old Toyo truck. Turned out to be the main lead on distributor cap.

Either that or your getting just enough fuel to slowly accelerate and not enough to boot it - blockage in the filter, pressure reg stuffed it?
