Motochron 968 Speedo Dial Watch
#1

Didnt know where else to post this. But its my first time seeing this watch and i'd like to get my hands on one....and of you guys have this timepiece????

These are from the 90's and really rare. As a huge 968 Fan as well as a huge Watch fan, this is a must have for me if i can find one. Less then 2000 of these were made/sold and they are numbered. Perhaps Bob or Jeff have one?

There was one for sale on ebay uk in June this year, not sure what it sold for though.

If you keep your eyes open, one will surface eventually.

I think that has to be the coolest watch I have ever seen. You should not have told us about it Fox because now if one comes up in ebay your going to have competition

I've already started looking, too bad I need 2 of them as my son wants one too. I like the tripmeter, it seems to be the number of each of the 2000 watches. I see they made a lowly 944 watch as well

I thought the trip meter read 240 because the 968 was rated at 240Din HP.

I thought that at first but the US version is rated at 236 HP. It is also rated at 240 PS which is a deprecated measurement from the Fatherland. Anyway, would be cool if it was the S/N but I guess it's PS.

That is cool and I don't have one. My rarest pieces are the 968 coffee cup and the Italy launch shirt.

I don't know what make or model this particular watch is, but the Porsche Design watches were originally made by IWC and I think about a decade ago they switched to Eterna as the OEM.

They made this watch for every numerical Porsche model. I have seen the 944 version.

If we can find the same type of watch perhaps we can get the makers name. This one has a similar style to it.

Someone over at RL contacted Motochron about a year ago about reproducing some of these watches. They quoted a min. 100pc order for something like $350 ea.

The price isnt bad, but good luck getting 100 people on board.
