Still here (Culver City, CA), still have my '94 968 Cab, midnight blue metallic, deviated champagne interior. She needs work (new rear window and while I'm at it, the top; new seat leather; brakes; tires) and is presently registered non-op, but she was running strong as recently as last spring with a new clutch, engine mounts, 90K service (belts, water pump, etc). Right now I'm flogging a rental car on someone else's dime while my normal daily driver (E46 M3 convertible) gets repaired. When I'm in a bit of a better position financially, I'll get her back on the road. Love that car!

I like the M3 as a daily driver, and it's faster than the 968 in a straight line (which has its own issues; I lose traction in acceleration in the M3 unless I'm really on the ball, whereas in the 968 I can just punch it and enjoy), but when I'm doing high speed sweepers (like, the 101 north of Santa Barbara, or parts of my trip back east) the 968 feels a lot more comfortably *planted* (road hugging) than the M3. Both are great cars, and the BMW is, let's face it, more than 10 years newer (though it's also a breathed-on 3-series, whereas the Porsche is, um, well, purpose-built, albeit descended from a VW design with an Audi engine, if you go back far enough ). If I had to pick one over the other, with a budget to accommodate the car's needs, I'd keep the Bimmer if I had to be practical (usable trunk, seating for four), I'd keep the Porsche if I wanted to have the most possible fun. If that makes any sense.
Kinda rushed ATM but I can do a comparison that actually makes sense at some point

It all makes sense to me. What a great pair. Do you have pics of your 968?
I love my 968 for what it is & don't hate it for what it isn't!
