Monk-ey business
#1

San Francisco is experiencing an invasion of orange-robed Buddhist monk impostors attempting ( and in many cases succeeding ) to squeeze any money they can out of people by offering them some crappy plastic flower or a string of beads which they insist will bring you peace and tranquility, in exchange for a $ 5 donation.. Wondering if these new age panhandlers are the sons and daughters of the Hare Krishna folks which patrolled our airports many years ago. Anyone else seeing this in your cities also ?

LOL, maybe it's just a different version of passing the collection plate in church , AKA " the Sunday morning stick-up " so not sure if it's the collector who is the mentally ill one, or the fools who give them any money ..

At least in church folks hope that some of that money goes to a good cause ( what's left of it after the priest lines his pockets with it, that is.. ) whereas I'm going on a limb here and presume that not a penny of tne donations collected by the orange street monks ends up helping the needy ...just the greedy .
