At these bidding increments - not too.

However, I just remembered that the new nav is now working - so I'll go up to $6,775!

Seeing as the market is on the way down, I offer $4250...

Seriously though, its not like these are $100k cars and everyone is taking a bath.
This car is no different than any other car on the used car market.
As with everything else in today's market, it's it ripe for buyers.
I think the trend will continue.

Although, completely different, but relative, look at the Ferrari market of the late 80's and early 90's.......

If it makes anyone feel better there is a Testarossa ( guessing.. 86 87 or 88 ) with 120k miles on it, really nice condition of the body, for $ 17,000 asking price on a local used car dealer lot.

I'd spend $17 k on a nice 968 anyday over $ 17k on a Testarossa ( but that's just me perhaps ) so maybe some Ferrari owners are just as dismayed as we are at the price of some of their own cars plummeting

and therein lies the beauty....

for example, 2002-04 Ferrari 360 Coupes were bringing $135,000+$150,000 this time last year,

now you can "cherry pick" a sub 8,000 mile 360 Coupe in the color of your choice, with a belt service (due to time, not mileage), for well under $100,000,

thus, one could buy a 968 (and a 951), with one year's depreciation on a 360 Coupe in this economy....

Furthermore, as Geddy Lee from Rush has stated in his lyrics:

"we spend our time worrying about what our stuff is worth"

It's safe to assume the most relevant measure of "value" to this forum's members is "emotional" (especially as so few are selling their 968s).

Completely agree. There is no rational logic for putting over $5K (in one year) into a 16-year old car with 100K miles on it - none. With the cash I have sunk into this thing I could be driving any number of new cars, some of which I actually would not mind driving. Or I could pay for my kids college, or .....

Someone recently told me that this is a hobby, not a car. That made perfect sense to me. And so now I have my hobby list. Not a maintenance list, but a hobby. For those of you using the 968 as a DD the economics will eventually catch up. Until then enjoy!

I am trying to contain myself from sending the Craigslist owner an email. That car is worth more in parts to me for racing than $6K.

That's how I ended up with two 968 cars - maybe I need three? The last parts car ended up being my recent love affair and now is looking much better than parts

Isn't the listing is gone? I couldn't pull it up.
