Mid Ohio PCA Enduro Race
#1

I was reviewing some old race video in preparation for the 2007 season and found this bit of tape. Its from the 2006 Mid Ohio PCA Enduro. The video goes from the start through the first couple of laps. I got a very bad start and lost a few positions, but managed to get them back pretty quickly. The three abreast pass is one of my favorites...

Great "two for one" move on the three abreast. Man, the off-season has been LONG here in Chicago!

Jim - Will you be running any PCA in the Midwest this year? Road America, Putnam, Gingerman?

Very smooth and calm. The other guys are all over the road and it looks like you're on the way to the grocery store or something.

Thats not really an Enduro.

Great driving Erik. There seem to be 2 or 3 other 968s in the race.

Sorry Jim, I meant you and typed Erik.

The 3-wide pass was great! Nice calm, smooth driving. I love Mid-Ohio, I can't wait to get back out there this season.

Yes, Eric it was only a 60 minute "enduro". Anything longer than a 40 minute sprint race in PCA is called an enduro. I've never seen them run anything longer than 90 minutes. I'm sure 8 hours like you run would be totally out of the question for PCA. If you ever need an experienced 968 racer on your team you know where to find me

There were several 968's in the race, but I think only Gary Grigsby's white 968 is visible in the video. The other ones were behind me. Gary and I finished 2nd and 3rd in class in that race behind a very fast 911 SC Euro.

I'll definitely be doing Putnam a couple of times this year, but not Gingerman. Road America is a maybe. I really want to get up there, but the PCA race there is a bit too close to NASA Nationals.

I thought that was Grisby. My mechanic Ivan Arozla does his car.

Hey Jim - very smooth controlled driving - and yes that 3 car wide pass was great!!!! Mid - Ohio looks like a great track and one suited well for 968's. I'd love to drive it one day!!!
