Mid Atlantic Snow
#41

Our community looks like a disaster area...trees and tree limbs are littering the landscape. So far, I've only looked from inside my garage. I haven't figured out what clothes I have that will allow me to walk in the 18"+ snow. What a mess - and, with the tree damage, it doesn't even look pretty.

We had the ice storm last year and I still haven't got my property cleaned up from that yet. I have 5.5 acres and lots of evergreens that had the tops break off. I still need to pull partially attached tops out of tall trees. Could be awhile. Sorry to hear you got the ice too. I remember walking outside and every few minutes you would hear the sound of limbs breaking and falling. It was surreal.

We got about 18" today in the Poconos. I was the only car on the road all the way to the office this morning. Parked on gravel under the enclosed car-port. Best $400 I ever spent. Gives me a good running start at blasting thru the last 10 feet to the road. Times like these I love the Jeep and skinny snow tires.

I hear ya. Most winters in my area come and go without any real need for 4 wheel drive. But man when I do need it ...

That land cruiser did me proud!

You've heard of the Cat in a Hat? Here's a 968 with a hat.

How much do you think that snow weighs?

I don't know, but since this snow took down a staggering number of trees, I'd say quite a bit. It's all gone now...for now. There's talk of another storm Tues or Wed.

Too funny. I almost got stuck in Phila again last week. Was heading out of Boston and the airline said, un, no you are not going to Boston. So I said - how about Phoenix instead?? Went vertical and West. You guys have been getting pounded in the mid-Atlantic this year.

Tracked ones are great, next door neighbor has one. It's 30+ years old and has had a few issues this year but cranked well the last storm. Nice to have traction.

A not so well known Option code : SP 1 ( snow plow 1 ) available in most in matching factory colors I think... just for these kind of weather patterns;

The tracks are great but the snowthrower is somewhat harder to maneuver than one with two wheels. Maybe I can talk Flash into developing a skid-steer kit for it when he's done with the supercharger. Hydrostatic transmission, so no need for a short shifter.

"Waiting for the Texans to chime in since they got snow down there too. At least in the DFW area."

Yep, white-out conditions here in Austin last week. If you squinted hard enough, you could actually make out a faint white tinge to the landscape for about 30 minutes. All kidding aside, it has definitely been the coldest winter I can remember in the 17 years I've lived here.

This has been an unusual winter. I believe I heard that 48 of the states had snow in Feb.

Although it seems strange, there is actually some truth that.
