New to the fold
#1

Good morning, everyone! New member to the 968 family reporting in. I absolutely love the red on tan. Picked my new girl up in Virginia and drove her cross-country to St Louis. She's a little worse for wear in the cosmetics department but runs like a top with very little to address engine-wise. My first step was to adjust the ridiculously heavy clutch pedal to something more usable, and next will be to address a small leak that popped up somewhere around the intake manifold. First big project will be a suspension refresh, as those highway joints send the impact right into my kidneys. Gotta address that. I've attached some photos of the drive back.

Jim....welcome. You don't see 968's with the Design 90 wheels too often. I think they look good. You might want to look at the tires as a harsh element of your suspension. Don't know what they are or how old, but they could be a big part of the joint impact feeling.

Gorgeous. Love the wheels.

I second checking the date code on your tires. The ones on my car were 12  years old.

Yes on the tires, and I suggest you check out a 968 with the proper pressure plate to see if you have the wrong one installed in your car (many do). The clutches are supposed to be light and easy to operate. If yours is not, you may need clutch fork bearings or the proper pressure plate. There is a very detailed thread on here about the blue stripe/green stripe pressure plate dilemma.

The added bonus if you have the wrong pressure plate is you get to worry about cracks in your firewall. Like many on here, I know this from personal experience.

There is nothing on the suspension market that is softer than the standard parts unless you go custom

The big problem with standard is it's all about 10 years old and wears out in 2000 miles

If you clutch was that heavy I would inspect your firewall closely for cracks

And are they standard D90 they look like forged D90 cup
