I occurred to me that with the tougher CAFE standards in the recently-passed energy bill, the days of uber-high horsepower new cars may be numbered. This will close the gap between the 968, and contemporary cars, which should remove much of the temptation factor I'm sure a lot of us feel with the introduction of the latest 400 hp modern automotive marvel. I don't know if the impact will be all that dramatic, but I could at least forseee the displacement of the average V6 to drop from the current 3.5 l back to the 3.0 l range, which, with the added weight modern cars a straddled with, should make the 968 appear relatively frisky again.
