This started as a post in a thread about "DE car, not necessarily Porsche" where BMW E 30 and E 36 came up. Since I drive an E 30 in endurance racing and there where views of the E 36 being a better/faster car I asked for specifics.
Given that this took Off Topic over the limit I bring over the question to a new thread. Why not in a bimmer forum? Too many forums to keep up with....
So to the questions:
This was stated by one of the posters:
BMW - more expensive but if you have the budget - can't go wrong. Buy the E36 chassis or later. The E30 is raced in NASA but is not as good as the E36.
And I asked in what sense the E 36 was better than the E 30 and what the feelings where regarding the E 46.
