Maroon Coupe in Escondido
#1

Saw a maroon coupe in downtown Escondido. Anyone here? Interesting color that I have not seen before. I saw the car as I was preparing to make a turn, changed my angle of attack and chased him/her for a couple of blocks, but lost him in traffic - these cars are hard to catch under the best of circumstances eh?

Joe,

It is likely the one I saw at All German Auto about 9 months ago, the car gets serviced there. Somebody local, but not sure about any other details.

I found some examples of what I think is Amaranth violet here on the forum:

In this post and here is a picture Amaranth Violet

I only saw the car once but it wasn't the violet, must have been the Amethyst as in the post above, since it did have a more red appearance rather than the classic purple look of the violet.

When the OP said marron I figured it had to be Amathyst. Amaranth Violet is a true purple and it is a solid where Amathyst is a metallic.

lol - spell check - as long as we're hammering folks about "aventurine" not having a "d" in it, let's use amEthyst

Not the purple one. It was a bit dusty and so hard to get a full bead on it but it must have been the Amethyst.

They are out there. You should see an amethyst car with a matching magenta.

Man those Porsche painters sure have a sense of humor.

I'm shocked they toned down as of late.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Mint Green GT2.
