Manual sunroof
#1

I know it's done quite often on 944's but has anyone removed all of the power options from their sunroof and converted it to manual style found on older 944 and 924 models? My gears are crunching and I don't really see any reason for having the roof partially go up, I only use it all the way up or off of the car. I don't know how much weight this saves but I just think it would be less of a hassle. How would this affect the resale value. Opinions welcome and if anyone has had experience doing this please chime in.

Cheers

I used to have a 944 with a manual sunroof. You're right that you would lose the weight of the motor and a manual might be slightly faster/easier to take off entirely. However, you'd probably have paint matching problems since manual sunroofs are probably going to be found on older 944s. There may be mounting issues as well, I'm not sure if the latches are compatible.
