does anyone know of a scale 968 to keep on the desk
#1

I would like to get a prebuit scale model of my 968. Unfortunatly I suffer from what is called "Essential Tremour" which makes both my hands shake. This I have had since I was about 10 years old. I can not build models of anything.

Minichamps apparently used to make a 1:43 scale 968 CS. I'd really prefer a 1:18 scale myself.

Bill, you can find the previously mentioned minichamps 968 1:43 scale models on eBay all the time. Both coupe and cabs are available and they are nicely detailed. The original 1:43 968s sold at the dealers back when the 968s were new were made by NZG. They have become very hard to find in recent years.

There are only 1:43 scale models of the 968 available (as per previous post - you will find them on EBay all of the time). Both Coupe and Convertibles are available, but only in a limited colour range.

I collect 1:18 model cars and am waiting for a 968 to come out (but not holding my breath). Autoart has recently released a 924, 924 Carrera GT and is just about to release a 944 Turbo. So the basics for a model are in place, they just need to make the unique bits.

Perhaps if we placed a bulk order, it might be enough to get a model made in 1:18 of a 968 (plus then the Turbo and Turbo S as variants).

Happy hunting.

has any body written to the company about a bulk order for making the molds? I checked out the other sites and all the models I saw seemed to be a turbo version (had some sort of hood scoop) on them.

The Slate Grey Metallic 968 CS Minichamps 1/43 is still available. I bought mine from mdiecast.com here:

Note: There is a 10% off promo code you should be able to find on google with a quick search...

Coincidentally, two months later I bought a full scale Slate Grey 968!

William:

If you want to purchase the Hasagawa Kit, I'll build it up for you. Most of my model building is 1/48 scale aircraft, but I've been know to build a Porsche model every once in a while.

You can find the Hasagawa kit on the internet, but it is long out of production and unfortunately not inexpensive.

For those of you interested in building Porsche Models, Tamiya has re-released it's 1/12 scale Porsche 910 which builds into a beautiful model. They also re-released their 1/12 scale Lola T-70 Coupe, equally as nice.

Sorry to add to a post that's a month old, but I thought I'd add that I can CNC machine 3D parts from plastics and wood to add to your models, or entire model cars in 3D too now that I think about it. It might be one way to make a 944 Turbo model into a 968? If anybody needs an interesting part fabricated I'm always looking for fun side projects

I can also machine any picture, photo, text etc. that you can get on the computer screen, it's a bit of a side business but I usually generate small items for forum-mates at no charge other than materials and shipping. I've done signs, plaques, awards, gadgets, entire clockworks, etc.

I'm going to eBay right now!

There would/will be a long line for a 1:24 or 1:18 scale model of the 968 (Cabriolet, US Spec. first please ).

Way to ingratiate yourself into the community.

Good on ya!

Could I switch the wheels on a minichamps model? If so I could buy a 968 and a boxter-s and switch out the wheels to have my exact set up...that could be pretty cool...
