Looking for a long block
#1

The time has come to either re-build or swap out my engine for a used one.

I can't afford a re-build, so the best and fastest bet for me is a good used engine.

Anyone have an engine, or know of someone who has one?

I could also use a list of USA bone yards. I have contacted Oklahoma Foreign and Nationwide recycling.

Help, please; I can't bare to loose my 968.

You might check with Parts Heaven in Hayward, CA. They have taken in a number of 968's in the past 6 months. The can be reached at www.partsheaven.com.

HI,

I have a very strong running porsche 968 motor with mint cams, new timing belt, rolers, water pump, 90K miles on it. Just to have this type of service done to your motor would cost this amount alone. 2 New cams cost almost 2K not including labor to install them. Motor is in car and can be seen running and even taken for a test drive before pulling out. I have the whole car for sale as well, so if this add is still up then the motor is still available.

Thhis is a 94 968 cabriolet in very nice condition and may part out depending on what happens with the motor so if you need anything let me know.

Thanks

I just bought a block and pistons for my toasted engine from donovancustom@gmail.com (dcvinyl). He had one engine and one spare block on Pelican Parts forum a few days ago. Since I only needed the short block you might try him.

PS. Tks for bandit for the lead! Just the perfect timing. Price was great but the shipping was a B'tch to BC. 320.00!

I was curious, DC Automotive has one: "968.199.510.10 009 (1995) $4,200.00 Complete 968 engine with head, in 3/13" $4,200 seems like a high price, maybe they will take offers. Does anybody know what "in 3/13" means?

Booster,

I got the ebay one. The guys seem really pro. Expect it here mid next week. They sent 8 hi-res pics before I bought it.

Needs a pan gasket , but hopefully it will give me years more of 968 pleasure.

Got it for $3995 to my door, with no core return, so I will have either spares or parts for race fans who need a good block or heads etc.as well as intakes, covers...

Anyone interested in parts, please contact me on this topic or brian@pacificproaudio.com.

That will help to offset the PM R&R cost.
