To remove/replace the cig lighter, you have to remove the dash trim piece that runs across the top of the glove box. It isn't difficult, but there are a few tricky screws. Also, the wires for both the temp display and the cig lighter are usually pretty tight. I was there when Flash was checking that with you...you should double check to find out what other items are on fuse 11 (look inside the lid) as maybe something else is the problem since that fuse blows immediately upon re-insertion. Maybe whatever blew the fuse originally is melted together or something causing the short. Once you find the problem, everything else should be OK.

Vent piece "unscrews" but only by about 90 degrees. You'll alos have to pop off the HVAC cover as there are two screws on a tab on the left side as well. This is the tab that is always broken.
