I attended the LA All Euro show and swap on Sunday. I met Flash in person and saw his beautiful car (Sorry about the drool spots Flash!). Flash came and looked my new Cabriolet over and showed me all kinds of things. Note: Take Flash with you for PPI.



A little later in the am, this 968 Club Sport showed up. Flash checked it out as much as I did. It was nice to see but didn't look like a car I would want to drive daily as it had alot of standard equipment deleted for the package.

Just looking at your list of cars. I used to have a 72 914 1.7 and a 66 911.



What is the deal with your 67 912? Did you put the 2.0 in there like on the 76?

the CS just got brought over - he's still in the "one year grace period" - car not federalized yet - oddly, it did not have any M030 components - it had the door panels, manual windows, manual hatch release, flat rear deck piece instead of seats, and had the emblems, but that's it - it also had standard cloth seats, not the one piece buckets

ya know, sorry guys but the CS body-color-wheels don't do it for me. Cept for white and black wheels, other than that it just doesn't work for me.

Unfortunately, the real truth is many CS were not really 'stripped down' for performance but in order to cut down the price. Thus these cars with no or few amenities AND no performance options. They were cheaper than a standard 968.



The ClubSports to have, IMHO, are the ones with M030, LSD, Recaro shells, no sunroof, no airbags, no a/c, no radio, lightweight wiring harness, etc. Just a raw sports car.

Back in another lifetime selling Audi's in the late 80's a friend of mine said that the Audi CS designation ( i.e. 5000 CS) was a court ordered requirement and the nomenclature stood for "Can't Stop" as prescribed in the plaintiff attorneys original complaint...



On the Porsche, the CS is supposed to stand for Can't Sell. One look at the original sticker price on a 968 and you'll know why Porsche was doing anything and everything to try to move them off the lot and the CS was an attempt to try the RS America marketing strategy on the front engined wassergasser.

i too am not a fan of the colored wheels - we used to do a lot of that back in the 80s - i think it really gives the car a dated look - but hey, it does make it stand out against the crowd

I too appreciate your car.......no matter what the color of the wheels! I really like the idea of a simpler, lighter weight Porsche with stiffer suspension and bigger brakes. (of course I am assuming a CS with all of the M030 options!). Good luck and enjoy, Bob Blackwell.

those particular wheels are now in grey (too much trouble to clean them over the winter here in the UK)



.....but i do have white cup1's also now....and white 18" carreras....and blue 18" cayenne (although these are particularly heavy and will primarily be used for getting me to the track and back)























...but the graphics/colour coordinated wheels thing....it is so early 90's, a little brash - but it is the way i like these cars
