Just bled my brakes...
#1

The fluid was almost black and the little fill device had gunk in the bottom of it.

Lots of air and dirty fluid in the system. The brakes were very spongy.

Now they're great! Nice and firm!

Did you use a Motive Power bleeder? Those things are the kind for bleeding the brakes and clutch.

Michael,

You are a real trooper! To be honest, I am a bit jealous... it seems that you complete a project per day! Please come to my garage!

Used the old manual method...

I was waiting for the invite! I LOVE working in Porsche's!

Too bad we're not close enough for a DIY Saturday...

Hey Silver....Kinda feels like I'm talking to myself. Good job on bleeding the brakes, did you do the clutch also? I just finished rebuilding my brake calipers and bleeding them too. I built a homemade "Power Brake Bleeder" for under $15 ! (Makes it a one man job) ATE Super Blue looks cool draining thru the clear bleeder lines. If anyone wants to build one PM me and I'll put up the "How to" on the Forums. I may anyway.

No, didn't do the clutch yet, I'll bleed that when I get it up on my neighbors lift...

Here's a great article to make a "motive power bleeder" with photos - thanks to Jim Powell over at BMW forums

968 cab,

Shucks, Ya beat me to it! Mine looks just like his only without the guage. You don't really need it, you'll know if the fluid isn't flowing, and to give it a few more pumps.

oops, didn't mean to "scoop" you on this - just that so many people wanted to borrow my Motive Bleeder, that when I came across this DIY, I just had to save it!
