I agree about that wing! The prototype 928 is one of the nicest looking Porsche cabs I have seen. I am with Flash! If that car were available...no 968 for me! I love the 8 cylinder power in the 928... and every time I drive it, I say "why didn't they make this car in a cabriolet?"

Perhaps because the power to weight ratio was too high as it was as a coupe with so many of the cars destroyed in accidents. I understand that the suspension at that time was not up to current day standards making this car hard to keep on the road in the curves. Making it a cab would perhaps be dangerous.

The suspension is actually pretty advanced, maybe more so then the 968. It was the first to incorporate the weissach rear suspension that turns into the corners. It is a heavy car, but if you actually push it into the corners it is surprisingly very stable and happy. On a twisty mountain road with lots of turns the 968 would be my preference because of it's lightness and lighter steering compared to the 928. But take it out on roads with load sweepers and the 928 would be more then happy to go thru those corners well into the triple digits, it was designed for the autobahns and going thru those autobahns corners at high speeds.

Bandit is on the money, with his input. The first time I drove a 928 (21 years ago) and felt like I was glued to the road, I had to have one. I bought one right after that drive, and still have it. It would be really sweet, to have that power in a rag top, but alas it didn't happen. On the upside... I discovered the 968 and love it for the great car it is!

The 928 didn't age as well as our 968's in my opinion. 928 looks very "Dated" where as the 968 still looks like a modern Porsche
