the day anyone sees me with these on my feet ( unless I'm in the cast of the next Predator movie ) please feel free to shoot me on sight, as I would have clearly lost all my senses and there would be no reason to live any longer ..

I've seen people running in them . They are supposed to be natural and better for your feet. Marketing pabla and who in their right mind would where them? I suspect not even a guy that wears two tone shoes!

hearsay based on recent studies they are really bad for your feet , but then again studies results change and often do a complete flip-flop every other couple of years , so who's got time to keep track ( I said "track", uhum.. )of all that nonsense ?

either way, they look too weird for humans , unless the big toe was opposable, then I could see the arguement for functionality , LOL!!

While this is a generalization, who cares, this flip flop issue has caused me to notice that the vast majority of people in this area who wear them are fugly. I might even assail their intelligence but that's way too far out on a limb that already is cracking!

Yeah, no kidding.. you never run into a Kate Upton wearing flip flops.. Then again, not sure the feet would be the first thing I'd notice..or the second...or the third... :-) ;-)

Big fan on the footwear front. My preferred brand is Church from the UK have about 12 pair or more of these including two tone black and white and brown and white and a rare pair of Hippo Skin ones (bought second hand I would never have a hippo shot for shoes) but I do suspect they will last forever, beyond that many other specials including 2 pair of Floris Van Bommells from the Netherlands, they are lovely and some Maglia platinums also two tone brown and black, a few Ballys etc. As well as the regular Aussie staple of riding boots. Absolutely no flip flops / thongs / jandals or whatever you call them in your home town. Hearing them flipping about is like fingers down a chalk board to me.

Why thank you. But poor ole Mom has raised two sons who are shoe nuts and is married to our father who we get this blessed avocation from. What's that saying? The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree! Lol

I've got ten pairs of wellies because it rains a lot here. In fact I was seven years old before I realised you can take them off.

Ok, since the last count ( 2012 post ) it appears I have bought a few more shoes and I recall only donating about a dozen pairs since then...anyway, as I'm doing another house insurance inventory update, the current count is: 66 pairs. Not including a quasi-bespoke pair I ordered just last week ( Gaziano and Girling ) which will take about two months to get here so not part of the inventory yet , lol.

It never occurred to me to count my shoes or watches for that matter. Does one actually include shoes on the inventory of a homes contents?

Bob, definitely counting clothing in the inventory because of the significant ( replacement cost ) value of it. Watches are a must . We were burglarized 35 years ago and ended up way short on the insurance recovery, because I did not have the watches and my wife's jewelry's declared value on the policy riders. Fortunately we only had two or three watches back then which were not overly pricey, but still... I think we ended up more than $ 5 k out of pocket..

Philippe, neither does my wife's shoe collection, lol. It was the late 80s early 90s era of excess conspicuous consumption , I had a well paying job , as did my wife so we indulged ..overly indulged on some of our passions. Travel for her, clothing for me, restaurants for both. And since my passions have always been : women, clothing, watches, food, soccer and cars ( in that order ) guess which category my wife would have objected to my indulging in..:-) .so had to make that up by overdoing the rest.

Huh? Your wife doesn't like you drive a car to football while wearing clothes, a watch and eating a hamburger? She's impossible! LOL

No, that scenario is perfectly fine with her as long as the is no girlfriend in that passenger seat ...

Dan, I never thought to count until I saw your post. Everybody who sees my shoe collection, and clothing/suit collection for that matter, comments that they are envious. I have 43 pair of shoes, not counting sandals and flip flops (probably 10 pair worth noting). I need to quantify this a bit, as I have 8 pair of just kick around sneakers, 6 pair of nice leather boots, and the rest mostly leather sole shoes dress shoes with some style (Cole Haan, Mezlan, Mark Nason, etc).

Hey Ryker, good to know I'm in good company and not the only lunatic . Though working in Silicon Valley among a sea of dingy t-shirts, cargo shorts, open toe sandals with white socks ( horrific ! ) in the office, and not to mention that many of those slobs are multi-millionaires , is disconcernimg to say the least. This region has lost all sense of common decency when it comes to appearance. As I said, slobs !
