ignition key lock frozen
#1

Now that the weather has gotten cold my old problem has resurfaced. When the temperature is cold outside (not engine temp, air temp) the key won't come out of ignition lock. Always goes in fine, turns fine and then won't go into total off position to get taken out. I have lubricated lock but it does not change the condition.

Anyone ever have this?

have you wiggled the steering wheel while trying to remove the key?

is the car a manual or tip?

(p.s. if you update your profile, we won't have to ask that question - hint hint)

I would be happy to update if I knew how.

Went to profile all I see is settings, updated that area, but nowhere to put in tiptronic or anything else except year and cab???

Doesn't do anything when I wiggle steering weheel. When I do is get heat from vent into ingnition lock by angling my hands and once heated up it turns off with no proble.

there is a signature area where you can add details

since it's a tip, i suspect that the shifter switch is going out. see if the lock releases when you wiggle the shifter in the park position, or better yet, see if the problem persists in the neutral position (though i'm not sure you can remove the key in that position)
