I found those floormats...
#1

The Porsche mats we discussed which have the mount design that attaches under the seat track and has a hole in the rear of the mat. They will not move. The best design for the 968, IMHO. I've attached a photo link

Part # is 000-043-153-10-5FV, list is $182 but that includes the holders for under the seat track.

Nice find. I like that the rears are fitted as well. I see too many little rectangles shoved back there. Mine are on the garage shelf... Where did you source these?

Thanks for the update Jeff.

Since Santa didn't bring me any mats, I'll be looking into a set of these.
I agree that this appears to be the best floormat option.

This thread prompted me to get a set of proper floormats.
I was pleasantly surprised when there was a set available interstate.

I'm having trouble unscrewing the seat track bolts though. I haven't tried WD-40 yet though.
Anyone have a tip on loosening the bolts?

BTW, I'm grateful that so many parts from a 944 will fit.

Jeff,

Thank you for doing the research and posting the results with a perfect illustration picture and Porsche part number!!!!!

I remember buying, installing and enjoying these mats back in the day from Scottsdale Porsche.

Absolutely, without-hesitation, hands-down, my favorite "securing" design (with the metal clips and "male-female" 90 degree clip).

IMHO, ever-so-much-better than the "strap" style securing method that can "stretch" and "wave" side-to-side with the obsessive metal seat track "T"s (that threaten to scratch the black finish on the seat tracks during "flashlight" required installation).

I have the "superior" mats you sourced in my 94 RS America (held over from back-in-the-day), with an extra NOS set (that I've been "coddling" since the early 90s), with matching Guards Red "PORSCHE" script for PCA concour events and car shows.

Thanks Again,
Porsche

I use a socket type hex head and as long as you keep it straight/perpendicular you should be able to break it loose without stripping it.

The custom floor mats i bought from Llyods also have the mount design. Paid about the same for them and Porsche 968 is stiched on them. If you dont care about the mats being OEM, these are a much better option imho, they are fully custom and can be had in any color you would want.

I almost ordered the lloyds mats a couple of months ago, but I wasn't sure about the mounting system or how well they match the colours. Anyone with a Midnight blue interior that have tried their carpets?

Here are some crappy photo's where the llyods mats are visible. Forgive the crappy cell phone pic. Te Mounting system in the llyod mats is under the mat. they send you straps with the mat so you can strap tem to the rails. My interior is deviating light grey & midnight blue. The top part of my dash, OEM stering wheel and shift knob as well as the top parts of the door cards were all blue. My floor mats were also blue.

I have Lloyds Midnight Blue mats in my S2, they're close but not close enough if you really picky. I'm borderline but then I'm selling the car anyway so I have to let it go, just wash away the bad juju.
