My understanding is that a hybrid clutch uses two different friction materials (one on each side) in order to provide the desirable characteristics of a race clutch (i.e. durability) in a streetable way. When engaged slowly as in stop and go traffic (and with a lightened flywheel), my hybrid clutch can feel a bit grabby. I have this kind of clutch because I do a lot of drivers ed events and, for me, this is livable on the street, but I imagine this would be much worse with a race clutch. I'm no expert on the topic, though, so perhaps others can chime in.
