How many 968's do you own?
#21

I've owned two cabs. But only one at a time. First was a 94 guards red cab, and the second that I own now is a 92 black cab. Sold the first because the extra spot in the garage was getting full with the toys that go with having a toddler(the Barbie jeep, radio flier, and jogging stroller, +++), but I never lost the bug for one and got a deal I couldn't refuse on the second one. Its safe till our little one turns 16 (10 years from now), then I may have to son consolidate my primary car and 968 to some typ of four seater convertible and make room for a nice, safe tank for my daughter.

I once at the same time owned two (one tip and one 6 speed) as well as a 944 daily driver. the 944 because I was driving around 30K per year then. Prior to finding the 944, the tip was daily driver. When I retired from that job the 944 went away and eventually the tip was sold. Was quite happy with just the tip until the supercharger became available and was only for the 6 speed at the time.

I was quick to say that I was very patriotic as I owned a red, a white, and a blue Porsche all at the same time.

And besides, there is just not enough room in the shop for 8. Then the two offroad jeeps, the grandkids go karts and buggies, assorted lawnmowers and the wife's Beamers would have to go.

One. And if you ask my wife, that's one too many (though I have caught her grinning like a banshee after a spirited run through the mountain roads).

I'm going to skip the " why 8 ?! " question because somehow I can understand that, but it begs this question : why are only the ( and all of them ) three Tip coupes for sale ? What's wrong with the Tip coupe that I should know, now that I just bought one ? [/quote]

No hard feelings against the TIPs. Actually they're much more fun than most people expect! The reason is that the convertible is also a TIP and I need some space :-)

Had two coupes, sold one, closed a big real estate deal, then immediately picked up two more...so 3 at this time. The "gull wing" runs well, the midnight blue AND the Wimbledon M030 both have driver door handle issues that I am currently working through. I saw a '92 cab in Ventura a couple days ago for only $7700 with low miles, and it was everything I could do to not respond to the Craigslist add. The add was down right away, so somebody got a great deal. Yes, I know I have a sickness, also evidenced by the 3 Westfalia vans that I currently own (an '86, '89, and '91). Oh, and the fact that I live in a home in Sacramento as well as another home in Los Angeles, with vehicles in both garages.

Ryker I have seen nothing wrong with what you have written. I'm sorry I only built a three car garage and am conceptualizing an addition. Liz is somewhat weary of the constant construction, as am I, but!! So you can't be sick because then what would I be? Lol

That it guys anyone else with more than one 968? Perhaps Tama was right in that this should have been a poll.

No, there was another in hiding out there. It is a GP White/Marine Blue that I picked up in the Bay Area, and originally from New York. The Lambo doors were a complete hack job, so I sent it to a shop in Corona, CA to get it straightened out. They specialize in these doors, and have had it for almost a month. They said it will look like it came from the factory with Lambo doors installed. The hinge will be similar to the new BMW I8. I would never chop up a car just to install the doors but I could not help myself to put this back into shape. It almost went to the scrap yard, and I could not let that happen! I paid almost nothing for the car because the doors scared everybody away, but it otherwise was in great shape. I will post photos in a new thread when I get it back in a week or two. They have been taking photos along the way.

i can see in my head the ultimate iteration of a lambo door 968. it would have little resemblance to its original form, but could be cool. of course, it would cost about $100k to do it right. not my cup of tea, but would sit right in there with a modern lamb in looks and performance.

1 currently (a Cabriolet) i miss the previous 968s I've owned (3) and in a perfect world I'd still have all four of them plus a bunch of other cars I've sold over the years. Oh well, happy motoring
