Banditsc 's and RAP' s posts are perfect illustrations of the ability to easily understand the intended meaning of any given sentence even when most or all words are misspelled . So obsessing about a simple spelling or grammatical error in a post is a waste of time ( IMO ) but I think Flash points those out mostly for fun and not to be condescending . And if he continues to do that, I'm going to point out the lack of upper case letters in his posts even though he clearly explained the reason for those ..but to that, I say : man up ! Walk it off ! Grow a pair, and make an effort ! Haven't you seen " My left foot ? ". If people can paint and type with their toes, no finger disability excuse will do. JK

BTW, re # 4 - good luck struggling to find anything on that .. You have an easier time finding faults with God .

Ok, perhaps lack of modesty ? :-)

Yes I totally agree that spelling bad typos and other things like grammar are not important. But I was put on moderator verification for just these issues while others are not. In addition I was trying to find something about my account here at the forum today and discovered I have 1 point as I was put on moderator verification it says forever. But it was lifted. What is this all about?

After reading all this dribble I had forgotten the very starting remark. Words are misspelled all over the news put out for us to read, but somehow we make out what the article says / means. Spell Check is put out there for those of us that never could spell correctly. If you all had had my 6th grade teacher you would know correct penmanship or have bloody knuckles. Seems penmanship is a thing of the past. Most but not all higher educated people can not write worth a tinkers dam and think it impresses other people when they scribble their words.

Cheers,

Larry

Larry, not to be disrespectful, who who actually writes these days? I went from wonderful penmanship that the nuns beat into me to a scrawl I honed in law school. I ended up having to print when I do write because I'm unable to read it.

Is there any chance misspellings occur because folks don't go back and edit and check wat de right?

the ones that bug me are the ones that change the meaning of a sentence, or make me go back and read again to figure out what somebody was trying to say.

lol - as for capitalization, i could do that with my left hand, but not with my right, without a lot of pain.  so, this is what it is.  i actually pay a typist when i have to do any significant typing, because my hands just can't deal with it.  old age is not going to be fun for me.

Oh, don't even start a discussion on the perils of old age.. Maybe develop a new thread for that topic .
