Greetings all! My name is Brendon Sheiry and I have had an interest in classic Porsche vehicles since I can remember. My father, John Sheiry, used to drive a stoplight orange 914 and I remember the joy that car brought my father and I even from the young age of 6. In the year 1999, my family moved from Maryland to Virginia and the 914 was sold during the move. I unfortunately also remember the sadness this change brought my father and I, not the movethe absence of the 914. Years later, I earned my drivers license and was introduced back into the Porsche world with the 944. After a few years of toying in the garage, attending a Porsche drivers course, and participating in an auto cross eventthe hole the 914 had left had finally been filled by a 3L incredibly well balanced track machine. In 2011 I departed the DC area for college, military career, and to begin starting a family of my ownanother hole had emerged. I was no longer able to walk into the garage and learn from my father just how special the 944 was, I was a 12 hour drive south in Alabama. Over the years since 2011, my father has had project car after project car. It seemed as if every chance I had to visit, there was a different car in the garage and there was much more to learnThe 968 was revealed. It was after days in the garage and many test drives later that I knew I needed to find one of my own. I now own one of my own, amazon green 1993 968. My fatheragain instrumental in the acquisition, advise, and restorationhad introduced me to a community and gifted joy that cant be found anywhere elseand it all started when I was 6. Every time I work, drive, reference my 968, I am constantly reminded of the ways my father and I have connected through hard work in the garage and behind the wheel. Thank you for the opportunity to join a community in order to continue the joy.

Welcome.

I have good memories of working on cars with my dad, including my first Porsches (914s) and later, driving around in the 968.

Welcome Brendon.  There is much knowledge base in these pages and people.  That is my favorite Porsche picture, my grand-daughter wondering what we are looking at under your car !

Welcome, and thanks for sharing such a nice story .     One of my close friends in Cleveland had a 914-6 , sold it decades ago , and he regrets having done that to this day ..( not to mention than the 6 models are worth a small fortune nowadays ) .  It was a blast to drive .  Definitely underrated in its era, particularly in the mid-west where something that small and foreign was overlooked and sometimes even ridiculed.   Bozos.  All they needed to do is drive that car …

Anyway, the 968 is among the very top of the best balanced cars ever produced, so enjoy !!
