Liners arrived today, so hopefully they'll be in over the weekend.

Weather permiting, we had a little snow yesterday

Last purchase from the statas for a while, the $ is getting stronger. Great for you guys over the pond, but rubbish for us here.

Remember some of us over the pond are still in the Commonwealth! The Canadian dollar is really tanking too with the US lending crisis. The one saving grace is that Jager Eng is Canadian and about 45 minutes from my house on Vancouver Island. Yippee.

Veronique is very pleasant and the company has LOTS of 968 goodies. Perhaps she would make you a deal if you bought a few goodies at once. Check out the "valve cover" letters and the cool stuff for the dash!

Just added my Jaeger hood liners and black "orsche" lettering yesterday. I put them on and it really dressed up the engine compartment. The "P" was missing so, like any reputable company with solid customer service, they have air mailed a complete new "Porsche" lettering package. Not sure what I'll do with the new "orsche" once the "P" is used...

Great to deal with and am very pleased with the hood liners so far. I have read the debate regarding engine temps and the durability of the liners but am willing to give them a shot. I was hoping that it quieted the engine a little and it worked just as planned. The liners tend to damped the pitchy sound of the engine while letting the throatiness still come through.

I saw the fuel rail cover graphics but, as I did on my S2, I masked and painted the letters just the other day. I might have the cover and it's siblings stripped and redone as the paint didn't like to adhere properly to whatever Porsche did to the aluminium parts. Looks like they were cast and then flashed with an Al alloy coating. After 15 years it's not as perfect as it once was especially the valve cover.

I know what you mean. I repainted the cover with the "Porsche" lettering on it before I installed the Jaeger lettering. The letters look great since they are raised. Kind of like that rubbery, gel-like plastic stuff. Now I need to pull the valve cover and paint it, since it looks old by comparison. Other than that, the engine compartment looks new. The black hood liners really looks good with the engine against the white paint. Now, I'm looking forward to my engine covers arriving.

And the slippery slope begins...

I can take some tonight and post them minus the "P." They really look sharp and fit in the slots 98% perfectly...

I got a set of hood liners a while ago but haven't installed yet. I was wondering which side to spray and adhere to the hood. The smooth side or the rough side? Or another way of saying it, which side shows?

I see you have the same car I do with the exception of the RSBarn chip and exhaust. I was going to order the chip and save the exhaust until next year just cuz it's a fair buck to sneek by the wife What were your impressions after you installed the exhaust system? More power, better sound?

Definately better sound!! Haven't noticed more power but I haven't had a chance to really test that. The chip made a big difference along with the airbox mod. Smooth solid acceleration throughout the total rpm range. Got to watch the red line though. With the new chip the rev limiter is gone.

Didn't realize RSBarn chip removed limiter! I though they would probably just bump it up 500 RPM or so. I have missed a shift or 2 while being exuberant with the 6 speed and the rev limiter caught me. I am not quite used to it coming from a 5 speed 944 S2. I must watch myself!

I assume you have the stage 2 chip because you have their headers? I was pondering getting that chip without the headers as I plan on upgrading to the headers later and do not want to rip apart my DME more than once. I fear the tabs may break off. Also why temp a connector or cct board accident more than once

I just did the RS Barn headers, cat and cat-back system plus Stage II chip plus airbox mod thing. Really made a difference. I needed the exhaust system anyway as my complete system was cracked. So, for me, it wasn't intended as an ungrade, just a maintenance item. I say that so easily, don't I? Maintenance - a German word meaning "you can't earn it fast enough". An item here, another there, rob a bank, it's all easy if you do it that way.

I bought my big-game 911 hunting license today to see if I can bag the unsuspecting one somewhere. I'll make the Excellence article pay!!!

prj,

The way they fit is pretty self-explanatory. Both sides of the hood are different and the liners only fit one way. I used a pretty strong spray adhesive. It's a little tricky to install (you have only a short time to get it right once you spray the adhesive. I have put about 500 miles on the car since installation and so far, so good.

Thanks T-bone, I'm going to do the install in the next week or so.

DaveN, I have the RS Barn Cat Back so have the Stage 1 chip and love it.
