high-speed window motors

did a search, tons of threads came up, but none related to this... <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/huh.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/dry.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />



has anyone installed high speed window motors in their car ?



where to buy ? cost ? easy job ?



vettes have about a 2, may be 2.5 second open or close time. It'd be nice to have that same feature ..

yeah but seriously ds has a point - the windows on my battered f-150 slide more quickly and more smoothly than the grinders on my 968!

1992 black/tan coupe, window express, koni struts/shocks, 17C2 wheels, guards <acronym title='Limited Slip Differential'><acronym title='Limited Slip Differential'>LSD</acronym></acronym>, pinion fixed, sound system, etc, etc, OCD for sure.

There is a one touch feature available as a universal install. About $50 per window. As slow as these windows are, one touch would be nice to have.



I think the only way you can make these windows faster is by changing the gearing, nearly impossible the way they window lifts are made. I'd love to be proven wrong...

I wonder if buying the entire assembly from another car ( vette, as far as that goes ) and just switching the units would require more than a couple of brackets and a few spot welds here and there to retrofit.. Nah, I guess that would be too easy - things never work out that way <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/dry.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

My German friends were all amazed at how fast the windows went up and down in my Japanese car some years back. It may be a German thing.....
