Introduction
#1

Hi All,

I'm Daan, from the Netherlands.

I dot not own a 968, but drive a 1991 944 S2. Since both cars share quite a lot, my usual 944 resources aren't too complete for the latest S2 models (like mine). I came here hoping to find out more.

Other details about myself:

Profession: building websites (front-end webdeveloper, to be complete),

Hobbies/passion: Porsche 944 and cars in general, bicycles, travel, games, all things technical.

Lives in: The Hague area

Currently 27 yrs old.

First car: this Porsche 944 S2, I currently own it for 4 yrs.

Regards,

Daan

I had a 90 944S2 before I bought this car. It was totaled (not my fault) in a accident and I was extremely sad. It had 50k miles and I was the second owner. It was as nice as the day it came off the assembly line. I really don't want to disrespect this forum because I am a paid member but www.944online.com is the place to be for your S2. There is a few members there that really know everything about the 944 and will answer all your questions respectfully without giving you a smart *ss answer. You can even call into the shop and Ian (the owner), Steve or Jamie will answer any question you have. There is a great bunch of guys there and it's like being with family. I defected to this site because of the new ride. There are not very many 968 members at 944online even though they have a 968 section. Their 968 section is like a ghost town. I will still use Ian for parts as needed! Here is a picture of my S2.[Image: img_4484_zpsac2f6c71.jpg][img][URL=http://s978.photobucket.com/user/jws2/media/img_4484_zpsac2f6c71.jpg.html][Image: img_4484_zpsac2f6c71.jpg]

A big welcome from Belgium. We will kick your ass at the World Championship in Brazil next year, but that said, if you can't find your info here, you can't find it anywhere.

BTW, for more close by, dutch-speaking help, you are more than welcome at TACB.be (I hope Flash isn't going to kick MY ass for mentioning our local club's website).

Cheerio.

Not a strong probability, IMO, but definitely a possibility; this is the best Belgium team I have seen since the days of Scifo and Preud'homme. And one of the younger teams too so they'll have speed and stamina to spare.

Ds968, I agree, but even a few years ago, with a much less talented team, we probably still would have done so, at least if you believe in statistics :-)

In the all-time confrontations between us two countries, belgium has more wins. But like I said, this isn't due to pure talent as it is due to pure stubbornness. :-p

jws you defected to this site? Has the Forum's administration checked your credentials. Green card, voting registration, tax compliance, and religious affiliation? Seeing as you live in small town America inquiring minds want to know! lol

Based on some of the posts above, it is time to start a World Cup 2014 thread!

Haha, this 'Introduction' thread is going that way already.

Maybe I should make a poll about which teams are going to kick the Dutch asses next year? Their defence in particular is pretty weak, hence my Dutch neighbor...

Okay, just kidding :-)

LOL, yea I hear you. I am trying to hide among the crowd as I slipped past the guards at the gate! A business venture brought me to southern AR 25 years ago from Los Angeles. So I went from BIG city to small town USA. It was culture shock at first and I didn't know how good this was going to be, but now I could write a book on all the GREAT things about living here.

All kidding aside 944online is a great place for the 924 & 944. Even though they include the 968 with them there is not much action for our cars among the forum members. There is allot of great people over there and very little hate & discontent. The members don't tolerate people flaming others. The members don't make new comers feel uncomfortable and it's like a big extended family. So fare it seems like that over here. Some of the forums (and I will leave them nameless but you guys probably know who I am speaking about) are not like that. Like if a new comer asks a question someone will try and make them feel stupid for not knowing the answer.

Sorry for the high jack!
