Hi from Aberdeenshire, Scotland
#1

Hi All,

I have just purchased my first Porsche  and I have to say I am absolutely loving it. i just wish I had bought one sooner.

The car I have bought is a '95 Slate grey Sport, who's previous owner I believe was quite active on this forum.

My background is in large marine/industrial engines so I'm not afraid to get stuck in with the spanners, I have already been studying the workshop manual, but  I  hope to call on the experience and knowledge on here to help me keep my new love in the condition she deserves.

I can't wait until tomorrow to head out in to the Highlands and get to know her better....

Hi,

Did you purchase the car from Andrew (AJG)?

Welcome, enjoy the ride,

Jay

Hi Jay thanks for the welcome.

Yes I bought it from Andy (AJG), he has kept it in great condition and has given me lots of tip and advice to keep her that way.

I've just spent the day out and about in the countryside enjoying the ride.

Welcome!

We certainly are seeing a lot of international members joining lately, which is a good thing.

Look forward to someday checking out Scotland someday...

Thanks I'm looking forward to be part of the 968 community.

I'm quite international myself I was born NB Canada, brought up in England, lived in Norway for sometime and have now settled in the North East of Scotland and I have to say there are some great driving roads here, I just can't wait until spring/summer to make some trips up in to the far north.

I'm not quite sure of is his situation but he said it was time to sell it on, I talked with him quite a bit I could tell he was passionate about the car.

You should read some of his posts on this site...we needed an English/Scottish dictionary. It was like completing a London Times crossword puzzle...

in the North East of Scotland the local dialect is almost like a completely different language. I've lived here for 8 years and I still struggle to understand.

I spoke to Andy one time and he was completely understandable. He did that for giggles!

Welcome! I lived in Aberdeen for a couple of years and there are some really great roads up there for sure. Also helps you can stop in at places like Dufftown for a dram now and again along the way as well.. Enjoy!

Hi Martin good to see you here too.

I'm finding at the moment The working week is getting in the way of me spending quality time with my new purchase.
There is loads of good distillerys quite close. I've still to convince my wife to drive me round some of them to take advantage of the tasting sessions.
