Help with downloading music
#1

I know there a lot of audiofiles out there and I need some help in downloading music to a CD. I don't have an IPOD and don't want one. I do have a Pioneer 12 disc CD in the 968. So, I would like to download some of my favorite music to the CD to play in the car. I want to download only classical music. I have a CD writer on this computer. I have found some sites that have classical music but not sure if I can download this music. Do I have to go to a site where you pay for the download (that's okay)? I have not found a site that allows downloads. So I am sure you can solve this for me but very specific on the "How to".

actually, you can rip music from your CD to the computer then burn it on the CD. You can use windows media player that come with the computer...I use wma files and not mp3
files because the mp3 compresses the music. Someone can explain it better than I. luck

Thanks Yim. Most of the music I want is already on CDs that I have. I just want to put together favorites, e.g. Finlandia, Daphne & Chole, Spartacus, Rodeo, Appliachian Spring, Eroica and more.

if you are on a mac, you can use itunes to load them onto the computer, and then build your playlists, and then transfer them to CD - you can also convert them to MP3 at a number of compression rates, so that you can maintain most of the audio quality, but still get a lot more on the disk

i think they make itunes for windows too - isn't that how you use an ipod on windows?

Yes - Windows, iTunes, iPod. A neat package.

Cosimo-

One thing to check is whether or not your "system" within the 968 can "play" MP3 (or other compressed) files. When you buy a music CD from a music store, the songs on it are not in MP3 or similar format. Some older head units / changers may not be able to accommodate playing these compressed files.

Here is a little howt-to for ripping the songs onto your computer.
