Help! Where does this vacuum line go?
#1

My car has been sitting for the winter. This being our first warm weekend, I popped the hood to find a rat ensconced in my engine compartment! After chasing it away and cleaning up, it appears to have eaten part of a vacuum line! Can anyone tell me where this line is supposed to go? It starts at the Y connector at the back of the engine, near the firewall, and seems to run to the front of the engine on the drivers side. Ive ordered some new vacuum line. Can someone tell me where this is supposed to connect? Its the line heading down and left from the Y connector in the pic.

Thanks, Bill

Bill,

The vacuum lines from the "Y" in your photo, go like this (at least on my '94):

The one to the lower left goes to the bottom of the intake manifold

The one to the right goes to another "Y" connector - both connections from there go to ports that enter through the firewall, one by the AC lines.

The lines are hard plastic vs. soft rubber so the don't collapse under vacuum.

Best Wishes for an easy fix...

Here's a photo of where the lower right line from the Y connector in your photo attaches on the firewall. From there it attaches to another Y connector that has both outlet lines entering the firewall...
