Long drive from tucson to peoria
#1

Just want to pop in with a short comment on my new 968, I previously owned a 928 S3 and currently own a 1987 944. This new to me 1992 968 will be a great addition to my current sickness of trying to find that old but moderately modern Holy Grail of sports cars. I have been enjoying driving porsches for past 8 years and I am amazed of how these cars are engineered and how well put together these cars are. Anyways just a quick note here and look forward to posting pic and other info here.

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the club! 'Old but moderately modern' describes the 968 to a T. Stil has a few creature comforts (power seats, windows, sunroof) and performance goodies (ABS, variable cam timing, 6 speed, excellent brakes) but it's not overloaded with today's avalanche of electronic gizmos so it's not too porky.

Post some pics of your car during the trip if you took any.

Welcome! Glad you found a cab, you'll find it loads of fun when you put the top down. I sold my 87 944S when I bought my 968, no regrets. It's a better Porsche.

You might consider letting the 968 Register know you now own the car. They maintain separate registries for coupes and cabs, available on-line.

Enjoy the Forum!

Funny, last September I flew out to Peoria with a buddy from CT. He purchased a 1970 'Cuda 340 convertible project car so we picked it up and drove 15 hours straight back to CT in a u-haul with a trailer attached. What a drive. Enjoy your cab. My last cab was Amazon Green, they only produced 100 of them in that color for North America, everyone likes that color.

Welcome! Austin gives a nice summary of the 968; my favorite things about the car are its versatility, and its potential, should the mod bug bite you. Best of luck with the car.

Screen names are becoming less creative of late.
