Hello from Raleigh, NC
#1

Hi All,

I'm a general car enthusiast living in Raleigh, NC. I've mostly been into Japanese sports cars to this point, but I've always had a soft spot for the 924/944/968s. In high school, the local junkyard had a sad, neglected, but still in one piece 924 Turbo. Bad fuel pump. I recall them wanting a fair amount of money for it, and my folks were not enthused by my desire to buy and fix it up in the garage. Still, it certainly got in my brain!

Over the last 10 years or so, I've owned a number of interesting cars (04 GTO, V6 Accord 6MT, Subaru Legacy turbo 5MT, Saturn Sky turbo, 2011 Mustang GT, 2015 Challenger Scat Pack, and a couple of others I'm forgetting). At the moment I have a 2008 350Z Nismo somewhat setup for track days, a 91 MR2 Turbo project, and a 72 240Z survivor/project, and a daily driver Honda CR-Z 6MT.

I've got an itch to change things up, and have decided to let my Nismo go, as Covid has kinda changed my desire/priorities when it comes to track days. To that end, I've settled on a couple of replacement choices. Naimly the 968 or 924 Turbo. I'm leaning towards the 968 because of some of the hassles surrounding the 924 (parts availability), plus, as a weekend driver the 968 boasts a lot of refinements.

I'll eventually post a want ad when I'm allowed, but feel free to reach out if you have a driver-quality 968 you'd like to sell (or trade form my Nismo!).

I appreciate you welcoming me into your community, and I look forward to learning more about the Porsche 968!

Thanks,

Matt
