Hello one and all!
My wife and I are the proud owner of a 1992 (actually registered in October 1991) 6 speed cabriolet manual in the one and only Rubystone (L82N) red colour of that year.
It was a special order car shipped out directly from the factory in 1991 to New Zealand (Right hand drive). The person who ordered it thought "Rubystone red" would look like a Ferrari red, so it's little surprise when it turned up they decided they didn't want it anymore. It's definitely a head turner and gets noticed everywhere we go. Over the years we've ran into people who have given us the history behind the car and the previous owner to my wife - who literally came running across the road shouting "oh my god - that's my old car!" We always talk to them whenever we meet up on Porsche rallys. A couple of fun stories:
The first time I filled it up, an anonymous benefactor paid for my petrol so initially I thought it was going to be cheap to run. Sadly, it never happened again.
A memorable highlight is driving along State Highway One with a couple of girlfriends crammed in the car and a freight train running next to us honking and waving. We thought we were all that!
