When searching for a 968 it is generally better to broaden your search. Shipping cars is pretty easy and gives you a far better selection. We have members all over the country that can have a look for you or recommend a shop to perform a PPI. Also, we know many of the cars out there.

I'm in NJ and bought a 968 coupe last year after 3+ months of searching; in the end, it came from CA but, as was said above, its worth shopping the country. I had no issues finding good PPI and info in several cities. Be glad to offer any help I can; my 968 replaced a 944S2 I owned for 20 years so I know the cars pretty well, though I know even more about driving them...
