Hello from Kent Uk
#1

Hi - I'm Alun from Kent in the UK. I have been a fan of the Porsche Brand since the early 1980s

In 1993 I bought my first 924 from a breakers and restored it to its former glory. I followed that with a second 924 from the same breakers and once again restored it and put it back on the road.

In 1994 I saw my first 968 cabriolet and fell in love with the lines of the vehicle. It wasn't until 2003 i was able to buy my 968.

It's a polar silver cabriolet, left hand drive and was first registered in Italy in 1993. In 2000 the Italian resident British owner sold it to his father and shipped it to Scotland. In 2001 it was sold to a dentist in Stoke on Trent who owned it until I purchased it in 2003. I have covered less than 20,000 miles in it in the last 12 years and love it as much as I did back then. It is still a joy to buy.

I currently have it off the road due to the left side B post snapping and am currently looking for a replacement part to repair.

Welcome, there are a lot of suggestions on here about the cab tops, most specifically, converting them to manual to minimize the side loads to keep what happened to yours from happening.

Welcome, Alun!

My 968 is with me in North America, but I lived in Scotland for a couple years and return often and every time I'm there I wish I had my car to drive on those wonderful curvy roads. On my last trip I rented a six speed little golf GTI in Edinburgh and drove it to Glasgow, Inverness, then over to Aberdeen. It was a blast, but still would've preferred the 968!

Good to have you aboard.
