Hello from El Paso TX
#1

Hi! I'm from El Paso TX, sadly I don't own a Porsche yet, have some friends who do, but hopefully I'll do anytime soon, I have been a long time owner of VW's and a DIY wrench as a hobbie, I have had a couple of resto projects from the ground up; a VW cabriolet and a MK2 GTI, and I think I am ready for my next project: to make a dream come true of owning a 968 I'd always wanted now that at least they are more affordable for me, I know that this could turn out an expensive one but I'm not in a hurry, I'd like to buy one in the best shape I can afford and then start improving it. but first I'd like to learn the best that I can of this cars, that's the reason I got here, hopefully the learning curve is not too steep!!

Welcome! And, good luck in your journey.

An excellent condition 968 will, in my experience, be about $15,000 give or take a few dollars. Or, you can buy one for $10,000 and spend $5,000 fixing it up to near-perfect condition. There aren't any shortcuts that I've found.

Going into cars less than $10,000 get's riskier the further down the ladder you go.

Welcome. Good luck on your search. More fun paying more up front than getting nickeled and dimed when you just want to drive.
