HI Chazie,

Welcome to 968 land.

I am in Denver. Just bought a 968 in December.

Enjoy your new car.

so far...... its looking pretty good. first 48 hours- it got delivered on saturday. 99k miles, red on black leather with LSD. I topped off the oil and fluids and cruised around a bit yesterday. The koni/coliovers are very stiff- looking at my options there. Rough cold start- i'll start with vacuum lines, armrest is a bit tired, door lock posts are cracked/missing, tint/window film could use a refresh. Its got recent timing belt service, steering rack, motor mounts, rotors/pads....

i will get some pics posted.......

Sounds like a lot of the expensive work has been done. I am running Koni inserts and shocks with stock springs and I like the slightly stiffer ride. Did you find the new owner guide on the forum? Lots of little things to check, including vacuum lines.

Congrats, sounds like a great car.

Regarding your cold start issue - the clarks garage website has a useful troubleshooting algorithm. I had an issue last week with my car stumbling on cold start - turned out the DME temp sensor connector was just a little loose. Easiest fix yet.

Wow. I am loving this car! I can't wait to open her up a bit once I get the new treads on. Out last night we got a big wave from a new Targa and had people taking pics at the gas station, that is a pretty cool experience I've not had before.....

Some of us have our cars regularly photographed by those cameras attached to the traffic signals! And they never seem to get my good side.

Sorry, you're just going to have to get used to it. You should also allow extra travel time to talk to onlookers about your car  Wink

A 968 is always a "head turner"....usual comment......You don't see that car too often.

And Porsche has introduced a new model with an in line four banger again, the base model Macan. So the 968 production concepts continue!

Macan is a 4 cyl ?! Wow, I had no idea. Turbocharged I presume ?

There is a 4 and a 6. Yes, turbocharged, not supercharged :-( And an EV coming.

HELL YES! I am in love with the 6'er....... I had Brandon at Kleeman USA put in a new clutch, slave cylinder, resurface the flywheel, and install new shift fork bearings....

After a few spirited drives, I can easily say this is the most fun and capable car i've owned. Phenomenal grip, instant responsiveness, and perfectly quick enough (for now).

Going to put in a muffler (the original was hacked out and straight piped), and new tires. That should have me pretty dialed in. See you around!

This is an excellent opportunity to replace the straight pipe (which is actually losing power for you) to an RS Barn cat back system that maintains proper back pressure but reduces weight by 33 lbs.

In combination with the air box mod (Look it up) and an RS Barn stage 1 chip you can gain a relatively cheap 10 HP.

and down the slippery slope of mods...
