Hi,

The first mandatory post after being granted access to the forum.
My name is Tomas and I'm currently located in Rockville, MD. Just purchased '94 red coupe. Have allways had a soft spot for 968s , but couldn't force myself to commit to owning one. All Porsche experience up to date was reading 911&PorscheWorld and driving a couple of friends' Porsches (968 and 996) once in a while. Long wait is finally over and I'm ready to face all the joys and hardships of the Porsche ownershipSmile Hope this forum will be an excellent resource to get to know the 968 better and make the ownership experience more pleasant.

welcome!

this site is the best resource one can have - spend some time poking around and reading - you'll find a ton of information here

as for the "mandatory" stuff, there are reasons for the steps, and they work - they go quickly though - the Tutorial will explain a lot of this

be patient, read first before asking, and search is your friend (always use "more options" though)

Welcome from the other side of the continent and a "foreign" country at that!

"I'm ready to face all the joys and hardships of the Porsche ownership"

Although your statement is true, check out the last topic which I just posted. Any "hardship" will be be outweighed by the "joys", because the 968 will make you do things and go places that defy logic!

Enjoy your "new" 968 to the max!

Hey Thomas, I to am begining my porsche ownership experience. Just bought a 95 968 myself two weeks ago. I really am enjoying getting to know it. Nice to see you are in Md. I live just over the bay bridge on Kent Island. Seems to be a pretty good group of 968/944 owners in the area that like to meet and drive. I will be looking to hookup with them and make new friends and learn more about the porsche culture and the cars.

I normally have a fall detail day/get together at my place but haven't planned anything as of yet and it's getting late!! We've got a handful of new MD/VA/DC owners so perhaps I should throw something together!! I'm out of town this weekend, but let me get to work on it next week and see if we can't set something up.
