HI everyone,

I'm currently considering a 968 for a PCA D.E. car. I've owned two '78 924s and my girlfriend currently has an '87 924S that we share on the track. I've been considering a 944S, 944S2, 944, 928S4 or a 968. Decisions, decisions!!

Anyway, glad to be here and I appreciate all of the information that is provided on these forums.

Thanks!

Run from the 928 unless you are loaded,1 for gas, 2 for maintenace costs.

I own a 944S2 as well and in many ways it reminds me of my 968 with 914 stickyness. I had to mod my 968 a lot to get it to the stock feeling of my S2 when doing the "twisties"

The 928S4 is not bad for maintenance costs unless you are paying a shop and do not have access to a shop that knows the 928. With the new timing belt tensioner option they are pretty darned easy to live with in that regard also. Yeah OK they have twice as many plugs, wires and distributor caps but no balance shafts, balance shaft belt, balance shaft seals, variocam ramps, DMF, etc. I am not sure which car is "better," that probably has a lot to do with the class you want to run in and how much modding you intend to do. It'll be fun either way.
