Removing evaporator - what to do?
#1

Hi all,

After lots of work on my AC and still a leak the evaporator is probably the problem. We removed the complete dash but still need to remove more to reach the evaporator. Had anyone done this before? And what did you eventually remove to replace the evaporator?

Thanks!

if the dash is completely out, then there should be a large plastic box in the center of where the dash was. That whole box must come out and be disassembled on the bench. That means disconnecting heater and air con hoses/pipes and vacuum hoses and electrical connections. There are four screws in the engine bay and more screws on the inside.  HUGE job, but the only way if you have a leak in the evaporator.  Good luck and take your patience with you.
