Happy Thanksgiving!
#1

Happy Thanksgiving to all my new 968 friends!

May you have a fun day with all your families and I hope you all eat too much and get all oogy. I know I will!

My son who is active duty in the Army is here with his wife and we might even get to take the 968 out for a spin. I am sure it won't phase him as he is the only person I know who has gotten a ticket on the autobahn for speeding.

Enjoy and have a great day!

Ed

Happy Thanksagiving to all. As I look at a foot of snow I'm glad I washed and buttoned up the white car last weekend. For you fair weather friends take a drive and remember your geographically disadvantaged Forum members as you groan under a sumptuous holiday belly

That's ok, tomorrow is national dieting day, just work those calories off via some heavy duty shopping :-)

Some of us do work tomorrow so others can shop! I'd rather stab myself than shop tomorrow!

Very much looking forward to our family Thanksgiving today. It's 47dF here in Atlanta this morning, but I'm headed out to wash the 968, so we look good driving to my son's in-laws for a great meal.

Happy Thanksgiving to all on this forum

Yeah, I made that mistake ( shopping on Black Friday , not stabbing myself, lol ) just once and that was many, many years ago. Never again ! Maybe online shopping does have some merit..on that day .

if the deal is the thing, there are better deals later anyway. you have to be a special kind of idiot to go out there for "black friday".

if they have to have this dumb holiday, which has nothing to do with what most people think it does, and it was really a celebration of the massacre of 700 indians by those cranky christians, why the heck don't they move thanksgiving to friday?

Happy Thanksgiving friends! Lot's of slushy stuff here in central New Jersey. Just put snow tires on the LS 430. Much better now. A Porsche will return

someday...

Ed - must be nice to have your son around for Thanksgiving. Thanks to him (and his family) for service to our country.

Cheers!

However this "dumb" holiday officially came into being here via a proclamation by Presidential Lincoln in 1863. Having just read it I can assure you it says nothing about any Indian massacre or cranky Christians. It became a national holiday on the signature of FDR on 1941. That document does not mention that pairing either.

it goes back farther than that. these feasts happened a lot. each time they massacred the indians, there was another "celebration". george washington first suggested that all of the "thanksgiving day feasts" be focused onto 1 day. it just didn't become a federal holiday until lincoln made it one. that became the official day we celebrate and sanction the killing.
